Professional career

 

November 2011: Co-founder and senior partner of "Schneiter & Vuille - Intellectual Property Advisors".

 

2009-2011: Founding own IP firm. Advising and operating on any aspect of industrial property.

 

2006-2009 ABREMA, Lausanne: Patent attorney in private practice in a small firm specialized in IP. Drafting and filing patent applications and managing the granting procedures in all major jurisdictions. Advising clients in enforcement matters and coordinating patent litigation.

 

2004-2006 Firmenich S.A., Geneva: Patent Counsel in the Legal Department, advising the flavor business, managing patent applications in the area of flavors, encapsulation systems and biotechnological inventions. Assisting in the elaboration of IP clauses in contracts.

 

In 2003: Passing the European Qualification Examination and being registered as a European Patent Attorney in the same year.

 

2000-2004 Nestlé headquarters, Vevey: Starting as a trainee patent attorney in the Nestlé patents department in 2000 and rapidly being entrusted with the filing and prosecution of patent applications worldwide, management of the portfolio for the whole Nutrition field and for Cereals, managing of oppositions and appeal procedures before the EPO and the coordination of international patent litigation.

 

University Education

2005-2006 Diploma of the CEIPI of the University of Strasbourg III in European Patent Litigation.

 

1998-1999 Post-Diploma Program on Intellectual Property at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (today a Masters course).

 

1991-1998 Diploma in Biology of the University of Basle, including the completion of courses in microbiology and molecular genetics, plant diseases, ecology and evolutionary biology.


Practical Stages

1999-2000 Conducting molecular biological analysis at the Ifakara Health Research and Development Center, Tanzania, on behalf of the Swiss Tropical Institute for six months.

 

In 1998 Practical stage at the Friedrich-Miescher-Institute. The occupation included the planning and completion of molecular and cell biological experiments during a period of four months.

 

Teaching Activities and Seminaries

Tutor of the CEIPI/epi course in basic European patent law in Lausanne temporarily since 2007 and in a fixed manner since 2008.

 

Organisation of the official epi/VESPA EPC2000 training of patent professional in collaboration with the epi and the VESPA, held on October 27, 2008 in Geneva.

 

Consultant of the WIPO in 2005 and holding a one-week practical course in claim drafting.

 

 

Intellectual property
